The 12 Volks Grenadier division and the 3rd Luftwaffe Falshirmjäger division that attacked along the Malmedy road were more successful and managed to push themselves into the american lines. In the St. Vith sector 18VG division has taken big causulties during attacks agains the US 106 infantry division.
