The sword on the left is from the 12th century and the one on the right from the 13th century. They are both badly corroded. The 12th C. sword is 1020 mm (40") (pommel Oakeshott type B1, the blade type XII). It has an inscription in the blade, "INGEELRILT", which probably was intended to give the impression of being an Ingelri blade. These were well-known and popular, but were often copied by smiths who hadn't got the hang of spelling… The 13th C. sword is 942 mm (37") long and has a nice octagonal pommel (Oakeshott type I1, the blade type XI).
